Elektrostomana 2004 AD is a metallurgic factory specialized in the production of mouldings, spare parts and non-standard equipment from plain, alloyed and high-manganese steels, grey, spherographite and nodular cast irons, aluminium and other non-ferrous metals. It is certified on Quality Management System ISO 9001:2000.

Company Background

The foundry is situated on 100 acres and it has an annual production capacity of more than 4 000 tones. It is established in 1948 and initially operates as a machine-construction station. In 1962 it is transformed to a technical service station for repair of agricultural machines. In 1966 is launched a steel foundry shop for production of facing mouldings from carbon steels, while in 1972 is opened another steel foundry shop for production of mouldings from manganese steel for baseline chains of tractors. At the beginning of the 70s, the factory is transformed into a Plant for spare parts and non-standard equipment, manufacturing mouldings for agricultural and later on for road building machines, for machines and equipment used in the extraction, mining, enriching, cement and other branches of the industry, as well as for moulding of non-standard equipment with different application.
The company is a private entity since 2004, but it has continued to operate within the same scope of activity, while developing and implementing a long-term stable production and innovation policy in the following main directions:

•  Production of a wide range of facing mouldings from steel, cast iron, aluminum and other non-ferrous alloys with various industrial application as well as with special application upon the customer requirements;

•  Machining of mouldings /turning, milling, drilling etc./, manufacturing of complex constructions by welding and mechanical mounting;

•  Carpentry and metalworking services ;

•  Designing, elaboration and working-out of model equipment upon customer requirements;

Implementation of new and non - standard solutions.

Production

The implementation of the best world practices both in the area of metallurgy and in the foundry processes, the established know-how, as well as the advanced technical resources enable us to produce castings with high level of difficulty from single pieces to serial production. The production of the steel and the cast iron mouldings is organized in independent chain lines. Depending on the unit dimensions, they are equipped with installations for machine or hand molding, for preparation of standard, fast-drying or special moulding sands and core mixtures, as well as for knocking out, cleaning and final treatment of the castings.

The company disposes of 4 working electrical arc-furnaces for steels and cast irons with capacity of 5 t. each and a drum-flaming furnace of 200 kg for melting of non-ferrous alloys. The melting process conducted in electric-arc furnaces gives the opportunity of continuous control on the clarity and the chemical composition of the metal during the melting process, and thus increase the precision of our work.

The founded units pass through heat and mechanical treatment for improvement of their strength indicators.

Production Portfolio

In the steel founding the company produces castings made of the following steel grades:

High-alloy manganese steel – 110G13L;

• Carbon steel by BDS 3492:1986;

• Low-alloy steel by BDS 6550:1986;

• Steels with chemical composition specified by the customer.

The annual founding capacity for high-grade castings is over 2 000 t., with unit weight from 0.5 kg to 3 000 kg., dimensions - 2 500 x 2 000 mm or up to ? 2 500 mm. Before being delivered to the customer the high-alloy manganese steel castings pass through a heat treatment and a tempering.

The other steel grade mouldings also pass through a heat treatment process and according to the customer requirements could be provided normalized or hardened. For steel grades hardened in water, they also can be tempered.

In the iron casting foundry the company has the possibility to produce up to 2 000 t. mouldings annually, with unit weight from 0.5 kg to 3 000 kg., and the dimensions as of the steel castings. We offer standard grades of gray and spherographite cast irons by BDS EN 1561:2000 and BDS EN 1563:2000, as well as cast irons with special characteristics modified by using an original know-how.

The aluminium and the other non-ferrous alloys founding capacity of the company is for annual production of 24 t., including blanks for pattern-core equipment /mould boards, patterns, core-boxes/, covering the needs of the steel and the cast iron moulding foundry.

The mechanical treatment equipment includes rotary-table lathes and universal machine tools with working capacity ? 1 400 mm and unit weight of the treated piece up to 2,6 t.; milling machines with working capacity 1 100 x 400 mm; radial-drilling machines allowing precise machining of the castings from 9 – Th to 14 - Th accuracy degree. The company disposes of a wide range of cases and a rich nomenclature of pattern sets for completion of the production processes, including over 2000 items /patterns, core-boxes, mould board pattern equipment/ made of wood or metal and annually develops about 150-200 new details.

The factory has a well-equipped pattern workshop with divisions for working-out of non-standard equipment, for maintenance of the cases and for manufacturing of steel-pouring ladles up to 3 000 kg.

To achieve the product quality, the company has developed a modern laboratory, especially equipped for conducing of chemical, metallographic and spectral analysis of the metals and the raw materials, quality control of the moulding and core mixtures and testing the mechanical parameters of the metals.

The company has established and continuously improves a system of internal procedures, which ensures quality control on each phase of the production process – from the quotation request to the order close-up.

The production quality is guaranteed by a “Quality certificate” .
